Hamilton beach toaster oven

I try to be creative with my children’s breakfast, in order to get them to eat up before they head out to school; I make sure that they have enough fuel for their day. I love working in the kitchen and it gives me satisfaction to know that they really enjoy their meals. Here’s one easy and simple recipe that I would like to share:

Cinnamon hearts

Butter both sides of your loaf bread (crusts removed).
Cut out heart shapes with cookie cutter. You can also cut them into any other shape you desire.
Dust one side of the bread with cinnamon and sugar mixture.
Place in oven toaster (I use Hamilton beach toaster oven for even browning).
Wait for bread to become toasty and crispy.
Serve while warm with hot chocolate for dipping.
(This is perfect for a cold winter morning as a cure for the blahs.)

Black & Decker toaster oven

Breakfast, say the experts, is the most important meal of the day. Loading up on a nutritious breakfast will give you enough energy to jumpstart your morning. If you are tired of eating cold cereal every single day, here’s a simple recipe that even your kids will love:

Vanilla French toast:

Mix together an egg, vanilla extract and confectioners’ sugar.
Spread butter on your bread, and dip your bread into the egg mixture.
Heat the bread in your Black & Decker toaster oven until your toast turns golden brown.
Enjoy the toast while it is warm, you may add syrup, honey, and fresh fruits on top if you want.

The Toaster Oven Gourmet

31197.jpgHave you seen all the toaster oven recipes that are out there? Books by famous toaster oven chefs such as “The Gourmet Toaster Oven” by Lynn Alley or “Pop It In The Toaster Oven” by Lois Dewitt are two of my favorites.

These toaster oven “How To” books are found at Amazon or Barnes & Noble.

Cold has descended with a vengence.  Global warming hasn’t reached the land of Gitchi Gummi.  It makes the days of outside grilling only a fading memory.

But Wait!  All is not lost!  Our neat little Rival Toaster Oven is just waiting to provide us with tasty, convenient, toasting, roasting, baking, warming and everything in between.  Life is good!
